Things feel different because the ARE

The #1 tip to navigating body changes

Conversations with my friends and clients right now – and really over the past 5ish years – have been centered a lot around our bodies.

But not in the way it was in our 20’s.

(Honestly, I’m glad about that, though that’s a topic for another day…)

Right now, it has a lot to do with noticing changes that have an impact but aren’t always consistent. Things like…

  • Random shoulder pain.

  • Brain fog.

  • Insomnia.

  • Joint issues.

  • Moodiness.

  • And the list goes on.

Just like puberty, perimenopause and menopause (all of which the above may be symptoms), are phases of life that change the dynamics of our bodies.

Things feel different because they ARE.

Experiencing one or all of these symptoms in these phases of life is normal. That’s not to say it’s easy, though.

One thing that can help is a consistent fitness routine, but that can often be a challenge in this phase.

It’s hard to feel strong and steady in The Hundred one day and a complete mess in it the next.

That’s where keeping the consistency but taking it day by day can help.

Every workout may not feel the best, and that’s ok, but keeping the time for your workout and doing as much as you can is a way to take back some control back over how you’re feeling.

Working with your doctors and your Pilates (or fitness) instructor, and letting them know what’s happening in your body, keeps the lines of communication open so you never have to navigate your body’s changes or your workouts alone.

Remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep showing up as you are, one day and one workout at a time.
